是次講座不涉及性別歧視; 🙅‍♂️希望喚醒大眾尤其是男性注意自己的精神健康。🧠💡會參考文獻 📚, 分析本港流行病學數據 📊, 集中討論個人、家庭 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦及社會傳統觀念 🏛️如何影响男士精神健康素養及病恥感。男士容易忽略身體不適 🤒、失眠 😴與情緒病的關係 😢, 令併發症出現 (例如: 暴飲暴食 🍔, 濫用酒精 🍺及藥物 💊, 自殺 🕯️)。其後建議有關的預防方法 🛡️及治療方向 🏥。

We are recruiting high school participants for the flagship event of our Department of Public Health: 🧠𝐒𝐏𝐄𝐀𝐃 - 𝐁𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐩!⁣
⁣
SPEAD is the acronym for 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐤𝐞, 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐨𝐧’𝐬 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞, 𝐄𝐩𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐩𝐬𝐲, 𝐀𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐦 𝐒𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐦 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐫, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧. We aim to enhance the knowledge of secondary school students in 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐭𝐥𝐲 𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐧𝐞𝐮𝐫𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐩𝐬𝐲𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬, as well as providing an opportunity to 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐩𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐚𝐜𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐜 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐫 𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐬 in medicine and neuroscience-related fields. SPEAD combined is pronounced as “speed”, echoing that timely assistance is required. ⁣
⁣
The activity will be held on 2 full days on Feb 7th 2026 (Sat) at CUHK and Feb 8th 2026 (Sun) at HKUMed Campus. It includes :⁣
⁣
1. 📚Deep dive lectures by experts on Stroke (Prof. Gary Lau), Epilepsy (Dr. Adrian Hui), Autism Spectrum Disorder (Dr. Oscar Wong), and Depression (Peer Support Worker, MHAHK)
2. 👥Interaction session with Parkinson’s disease patients
3. 👣Career sharing by neurosurgeon (Dr. Michael Lee)
4. 🧘🏻‍♀️Mindfulness and Meditation workshop (Dr. Eric Lee), Animal-assisted Therapy Workshop (HKIAAI), Music Therapy Workshop (Mr. Edmund Ma), and Life & Death Education workshop (Mr. Anthony Fung, Grief Me Light)
5. 📍Campus explorations and university life sharings⁣

All 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐦 𝟒/𝟓/𝟔 𝐨𝐫 𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝟏𝟎/𝟏𝟏/𝟏𝟐 students are welcomed as participants.⁣
We are also looking for undergraduates (or above) specialising in medicine, biomedical science, psychology, or other biosciences and healthcare-related disciplines to serve as group leaders. Please refer to the previous post for more information.

Board of Operations 🧠

The Board of Operations is responsible for coordinating the efforts of the Departments and facilitating the smooth functioning of HKSAN. The Board is dedicated to promoting the advancement of neuroscience research, innovation, education and public engagement among students and the public by holding cross-departmental activities and initiating international collaborations. It seeks to expand the reach of HKSAN and promote neuroscience research and education to the wider community on a global scale.
