Dr Shirley Pang is an Associate Consultant in Neurology at Queen Mary Hospital and Honorary Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine at The University of Hong Kong. She is also the Honorary Secretary of The Hong Kong Movement Disorder Society.

Dr Pang’s research interests lie in neurodegenerative disorders and translational neurology. Receiving her Doctor of Medicine degree in 2019, she is interested in the translation of genetic findings into etiologies and pathogenic mechanisms of neurodegenerative disorders. Her published review articles include one on how the advent of genetic sequencing and analysis revealed the role of gene variants in the pathogenesis of neurodegenerative disorders and another one on the interplay of genetics, ageing and environmental factors in the pathogenesis of Parkinson’s Disease. She is keen on the study of etiology and pathogenic mechanisms in neurodegenerative disorders based on genetic findings, and the development of personalized medicine in their treatment.
