NeuroEx 2023
The Neuroscience Health Exhibition
About
This exhibition is supported by the Gerald Choa Memorial Fund
The Neuroscience Health Exhibition (NeuroEx) organized by the Hong Kong Student Association of Neuroscience is the first of its kind in Hong Kong, aiming at raising public awareness about issues of neuroscience that are highly relevant to the Hong Kong population. Informative while interactive, NeuroEx seeks to integrate the basic science and clinical perspectives of neuroscience and highlight the essence of neuroscience knowledge in relation to general health promotion within the community. By clearing common misconceptions surrounding neurological diseases, we hope to encourage vigilant monitoring of brain health while drawing public attention to the needs of patients with neurological diseases, thus advocating better care and a more inclusive environment for these patients within the community. The exhibition will take place in multiple venues open to the public and welcome citizens of all ages, including families, children, and the elderly to participate. Through engaging the public in highly stimulating activities and elucidating concepts through technological software, we envision arousing the interest of the younger generation in neuroscience, prompting further thinking and exploration of multitudinous neuroscience topics.
This Year's Theme: Neurodegenerative Diseases
The theme of NeuroEx 2023 is Neurodegenerative Diseases. Information boards and interactive booths about various neurodegenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer's Disease, Parkinson's Disease, and Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis will be launched to deepen the general public's understanding of each of them as well as raise awareness about their prevalence and related health issues.

Our Booths
Our information booths highlight the causes, symptoms, diagnostic methods, and current treatments for various neurodegenerative diseases. These include Alzheimer's Disease, Huntington's Disease, Parkinson's Disease, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, and Spinal Muscular Atrophy. Echoing the content on our information boards, four interactive booths have been devised to consolidate participants’ understanding of the diseases. There will be designated helpers stationed at the booths whom citizens may approach to learn about the details of each neurodegenerative disease, thus engaging in the breadth and depth of the scientific and clinical perspectives of neuroscience. Through educational insights into the neurodegenerative diseases derived from these booths, the public will simultaneously acquire basic knowledge about the physiological functioning and pathological manifestations of the brain, as well as the related clinical management.
Our Sponsor: Souvenaid
Souvenaid produces nutritional supplements that are used medically in the promotion of brain health. Each supplement contains a patented mix of nutrients, that when ingested daily, has been shown clinically to improve memory. Souvenaid strongly emphasises the importance of evidence-based research in evaluating the effectiveness of their product, and has thus been the only medical nutrition supplement to have been published in the prestigious medical journal The Lancet Neurology. Furthermore, the effectiveness of Souvenaid on improvements in memory was supported by a local study.
Souvenaid understands the importance of slowing down the progression of dementia by providing the brain with the specific nutrients required to prevent further loss of synaptic connections and being aware of decline in brain health. Thus, they align with the vision of NeuroEx to raise the public's awareness about prevalent neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's disease.
There is a booth specially designated for Souvenaid in NeuroEx 2023 where the public can learn more about them and their products.
